Sage Sagittarian Wisdom from Sagittarians for Sagittarius Season.

It is Sagittarius Season, a time of integrating the lessons of the Archer.  Let’s go straight to the mouths of some famous fiery centaurs to best get at the kernels of this excitable wisdom.

Jupiter is Zeus, the sky-god.  The sky gives a sense of no limits, endless expansion.  Hendrix’s guitar has the same effect.  Just look at the gleam in his eye, a total give-away for the zest of this mutable Fire sign.

A Sagittarian understands that seeking is what needs to happen.  Things don’t just fall on your lap.  You have to engage in the journey.

The Archer understands that indeed, it IS more about the AIM.  It is the aim of a goal that generates enthusiasm and spirit.  If we keep the aim in sight, we keep the spirit kindled, the faith alive, and the enthusiasm ignited.

Zest is absolute nourishment for a Sagittarian.  It permits them to fly high with their ideas and imagination.  The contagious fire can then spread and catch on with others, creating inspiration and wonder for the masses.

Sagittarius teaches us that hope is a gentle yet very potent thing.  If we can keep a dose of it in our hearts, we are well on our way to kindling the robust fire of Sagittarian strength,

It was Jim Morrison’s idea to name the band the Doors based on Aldous Huxley’s book “The Doors of Perception”, which was derived from the William Blake line: “If the door of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is: infinite”.  Sagittarius is a door, an opportunity, a gateway to a broader perspective.

A Sagittarian understands that attitude is everything.  It’s not what happens in life it’s our attitude towards these events that matters.  Attitude is altitude.  Sinatra’s songs often inspire a sense of brazen confidence, “if I can make it there I’ll make it anywhere”… “regrets I’ve had a few, but then again too few to mention.”  Sagittarius reminds you to always believe in yourself.
Steven-Spielberg.jpg
Sagittarius is a day-time dreamer.  It dreams and then it points it’s arrow towards this broad and far-reaching ideal.  Jupiter co-rules both Sagittarius and Pisces, both of which are associated with dreaming.  Pisces is underwater, therefore the dreams are more rooted in the dark subconscious.  Sagittarius is the sky, therefore the dreams are more conscious.  Spielberg stays true to his Sagittarian center with day-time dreaming.
Jon-Stewart-Quote-On-Having-Values-Not-Hobbies-In-Life.jpg
Sagittarius teaches us to be true to our values, and protect them to foster a true and personalized sense of “rightness”.  Having a strong sense of morality is medicine for Sagittarius.  Jon Stewart has made a living through the sharing of perspectives to attempt to arrive at new understandings.

Sagittarius has an inner fiery promise of purpose buried within.  This sign seeks meaning, and it will travel far to find it.

Happy Sagittarius Season.  May the spark be lit, then encouraged to grow, where it can guide you and become delightfully contagious in spirit.  Let the sky-horse carry you away to places you know you’d like to be.  These places are within reach.  Dare to dream in the daylight.  Encourage you zest and be mindful of your values.  What a wonderful time of year.

Sail into the Mystic: Mars Enters Pisces

The holiday season this year comes with some stirred up cosmological waters.  After a prolonged stay in Aquarius, Mars, the planet that energizes is entering the vast territory of the collective unconscious, the endless and unfathomable ocean of Pisces, the sign of the Fishes.

The waters above and the waters below.  Pisces sails into the mystic.

Pisces is a sign that is most associated with passive, female principle of the the universe that is Yin energy.  It is the type of love that is all-encompassing, it is pure forgiveness, gentleness, ethereal beauty, subtlety, deep imagination, psychic phenomenon.  People who are born under the influence of this sign have a natural ability to tap into this realm, often to the astonishment and wonder of others.

Edgar-Cayce.jpg
Edgar Cayce, famously known as the “sleeping prophet” astounded the public with his knack for clairvoyance.  He has more planets in Pisces than any other sign in his chart.

Einstein’s driver said that one of his habitual routines was to play the violin in nature, with the birds.  He said as he did this he would have tears streaming down his face.  Pisces feels it’s way into the secrets of the cosmos.

Back to Mars.  Mars motivates in many ways.  Sometimes it can just feel like a straightforward burst of energy.  A new focal point in which you are ready to place your time and energy.  Other times it comes in the form of agitation, unrest, a feeling like you just can’t take it anymore and something needs to change.  This is the boiling, roiling, stirring and churning way of the warrior planet.

In Pisces, it is the the ethereal waters of other-worldliness that are being agitated, motivated, energized.  In short, the Mystic within is being summoned.

Bob Dylan was born when Mars was in Pisces.  A Gemini, he is a rue Trickster/ Mystic.  A master of words who can tap into other-worldly realms through the potency of poetry.

Yuri Gagarin was also born when Mars was in Pisces.  His motivation for other-worldliness took on a more literal tone as he was the first man to ever journey into outer space.

Mars will stay in Pisces until New Years Eve, flavoring the holiday stretch with a sizzle of Yin energy.

Liz Taylor, A Pisces was born under the influence of Mars in Pisces.  A Yin energy that is sizzling.  A peak into the other-worldly realm is a glance into her deeply reflective eyes, a beautiful hint of eternity.

Marilyn Monroe also has Mars in Pisces.

So does Ava Gardner.

There is definitely a je-ne-sais-qoi quality to the next couple of months.  Things may pop up that make you open your eyes wider to the greater mysteries of life.  The wonder that comes about from the many holiday lights may be of extra sparkle.

It is the receptivity of our subjective state of mind that permits the wonder and the beauty to enter and influence our reality.

“Starry Night” is an example of the celebration of the artist’s subjectivity.  Van Gogh also had Mars in Pisces.

Subjective reality is the home of our feelings.  With Mars traveling through Pisces, emotions that come with this time of year may feel more overwhelming.  One of Pisces biggest challenges is to keep the rivers and tides of emotions flowing healthily.

Keep the waters of strong feelings flowing by means of acknowledging them, so they can be processed and moved into new states of being.  This is the mutable quality of Pisces, a promise of healing through the willingness to change shape.

Pay attention to what is nagging at you or what is merely calling you in the next few months.  It is likely tied into a deeper personal connection to the waters above and the waters below.  That is, a deeper connection to all that is unknowable, yet worthy of reflection.  A grander reality, that is based on a willingness to feel.

Happy Holidays!

October Horoscopes are Here!

It’s Libra Season!  The swelter of the summer is gone, and the icy wind has yet to come.  There is a beautiful relief in the neutralness of the air.  And there are apples everywhere!  A nod to Venus, the Goddess associated with Libra.

Eve, aka Venus had a thing for apples.

Libra Season encourages us to find a harmony in our lives by nurturing a middle path.  In Ancient Greek Philosophy, Aristotle saw the mathematical Golden Mean (the divine proportion of 1.618 to 1 seen in much of the ancient art world) as representing the “golden middle way”.  This was a way that favored the desirable middle between two extremes, that of excess and that of deficiency.

Virgo Season is Here!

It is the month of September, where the roar of the summer lion begins to fade and the air becomes a bit crisper.  Students head back to school with sharpened pencils and fleshed out schedules.  It is the month of the Harvest, where in true Virgo-fashion, crops are gathered and sorted to be stored for the long winter ahead.

The Virgin prepares for times ahead by organizing her resources.

Virgo paves the way for Libra to usher in the Autumnal Equinox later in the month, when for a brief moment, day and night are equal before night claims the upper hand.

Virgo season is here.  The question is, what does this mean for you?
