Claim Your Riches! Full Moon in Taurus on Tuesday, Nov 12th.

The Moon will be full on Tuesday, November 12th in Taurus, the sign in which the Moon is said to be..

images.jpg

..exalted!

And why is the Moon known to be exalted in this sign?  The sign of earthy abundance?  The sign of storing, of keeping, of holding, of having?

download.jpg

Taurus is the Torus field.  A self-regulating system of energy.

Here is a Sunflower going about it’s toroidal flow.

Plants store the energy of the Sun for food.  In this way, it is the holding of the Sun that gives them life.

Taurus is the sign of riches and wealth as well as health and well-being.

It is no wonder that the image of the Caduceus, seen in doctor’s offices and the dollar bill is none other than a nod too..

..toroidal flow.

The Torus field of the body is the real wealth.  And who is it that holds the Caduceus again?

download-2.png

Mercury!  The thinking mind.

And what does the Torus want to store?

Gold for wealth.

Gold for health.

True Gold (joy) for wealth and health!

So on this Full Moon in Taurus- reclaim your riches.  Use your thinking mind to identify the joy in your life and then let yourself really feel it.  If you have to break out into a “yay” definitely do so!  Your Torus forcefield will surely strengthen, and there will be Mooney in your bank!

As always, happy astro pondering!

The Value of Existence and the Existence of Value:  Uranus in Taurus

It’s an interesting time both above and below.  Three slow moving planets are in their natural signs: Jupiter in Sagittarius, Neptune in Pisces and Saturn in Capricorn.

Jupiter is Sagittarius hails in a new thirst for meaning.

download.jpg

Give me more meaning!  I need fuel to move forward!!

Neptune in Pisces gleams a hint at divinity here on earth in the day to day.

download-1.jpg

The All in the Many, the divine in the day to day.

And Saturn in Capricorn says “If it isn’t useful, what good is it?”.

images.png

Let’s get pragmatic, yo!

All of these planets in their homegrown signs-  the mythic actors speaking “on the nose” (no subtext).  The grand plot with metaphors that children can grasp.

Uranus is the Great Awakener.  When it touches a sign, the revelation that comes about may be an: “Oh…OH… yes of course” type of thing.  You view something from a fresh angle, and all at once it becomes something NEW.

images-1.png

For the next 7 years, the awakening has everything to do with Taurus- our VALUES.

images-1.jpg

Basic assumptions come into question with Uranus.

Uranus is the planet that deals with the concept of Existence.  Philosophers have been exploring this concept for ages.  The mid 50s brought about Existentialism, a philosophy entirely devoted to what it means to exist.

download.png

Life and Existence seem to be the same thing at first glance- but they certainly are not.  For instance how could T.S. Eliot’s phrase “Where is the Life we have lost in living?” make sense?  And it does seem to make a whole lot of sense.

Enter a new literary voice in my life: Colin Wilson, a man who deems himself an Existentialist, yet with a much more cheery outlook than most of his contemporaries.  In fact he calls his Existentialism a “New Existentialism”, one that acknowledges a need for objective meaning in life.  Meaning to fuel our Will, and find purpose.

Colin Wilson became famous overnight when his first book, “The Outsider” was published in 1956.  He went on to write over 150 books, all the while contemplating and crafting an incredible life philosophy that celebrates optimism.

The Outsider is a non-fiction book exploring a character who isn’t sucked into the values of the world around him, such as creature comforts and career status.  Therefore he is an Outsider.  “He sees too much and too deep”.  He explores the writings of famous Outsiders such as Nietzsche, Dostoevsky, Hemingway and many others.  He sees the Outsider as a kind of “evolutionary throw-forward”.  Very Uranian.

Here is a fantastic interview with Wilson from the 80s television show, “Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove”.

Uranus speaks to existence and Taurus speaks to values.  Both of these concepts are very worthy of contemplation (or meditation if that is your preferred way!)

What is the value of your existence?

Hard to pinpoint as you sit here and read this I bet.

But what if the situation were a bit more.. terrifying?

download-6.jpg

You might feel the value of your existence pounding in your throat.

And it is likely that, once the bear decided you weren’t worth the trouble and receded into the distance, your world may appear brighter.  More beautiful.  More dear.

LIFE!!!!!  The WORLD!!!!

Wilson says that crisis (like the bear) has a way of lowering one’s “indifference threshold”, and thereby revealing all of the beauty and meaning that surrounds us.

This meaning is vital to our well-being as it fuels our will (no small thing!).

And now what about the reverse: what is the existence of value?

What are the values that exist in the world around you?

Voila The Joneses!

London-Commuters-Face-Strike-Action-Travel-Disruption.jpg

And the rat race.

download-8.jpg

And the latest iphone.

So these are some values that exist in the world, but here is the question: do they accurately reflect your values?

In some ways maybe they do.  But odds are if you have been reading this astrology post all the way up until this point there are other values that might not be so reflected here.

Again let’s look to the current sky (and simultaneously within ourselves):

download-9.jpg

Jupiter in Sagittarius:  the value of MEANING as suggested here by Michelangelo’s The David.  (Meaning=food for the will!)

download.jpg

Neptune in Pisces: the value of magical BEAUTY as displayed by Van Gogh’s Starry Night.

pexels-photo-210182.jpg

Saturn in Capricorn: finding these values in the here and now of REALITY.

With that, enjoy your cup of Uranian java and nurture the instinct to WAKE UP to new VALUES!

Happy Astro Pondering.

Uranus moves into Taurus: a revolution in VALUE

Unknown.jpeg

Prometheus stole fire from the Gods to better humanity.  This rebellious humanistic archetype is synonymous with the planet Uranus

dollar-currency-money-us-dollar-47344.jpeg

Taurus is associated with money but more directly with VALUE.

The freedom wave is one of knowing your own worth.  Your true value.

Here is a 5 minute video I made exploring these themes.  Especially worth watching if money ever negatively effects your self-esteem!

Here comes the Sun: Knowing your life energy. Part 1- Earth.

Your Sun sign keys you into understanding the fundamental energy that you run on.  There are four basic different categories of this energy: Earth, Water, Air and Fire.  Start with understanding your element and then move on to understand it’s specific qualities within your sign.

Today we take a quick look at Earth energy.

Earth energy is practical and sensual.  It is naturally tuned into solid reality.  It is also more body conscious.  With Earth energy comes a likely ability to stay grounded in the face of chaos.  There is often a need to make things manifest on a physical level.  Like Water, Earth is Yin, so there is a natural inwardness to it.

Earth is physical, tangible, and everywhere we look.

Breaking the Earth signs further down into their modes we get:

Cardinal Earth: Capricorn.  Cardinal INITIATES.  Think of the above description of Earth energy and add the concept of INITIATION to better understand Capricorn.

I will give examples with some “doubles” below (Sun and Moon in same sign).  Doubles are fun to study because the archetype of the sign is often made more visible.

images

Double Capricorn James Earl Jones has both these planets in the first and Saturn on the ASC (Saturn is the planet associated with Capricorn). His identity (first) is composed of authoritative, self composed energy (Capricorn).

Fixed Earth: Taurus.  Fixed signs MAINTAIN.  With Earth energy now add the concept of MAINTAINING to better understand Taurus.

Sex-kitten dancer/actress, Ann Margaret has everything in sensual, body oriented Taurus and in the 12th. She seeks an ideal (12th) in celebrating her body and her physicality (Taurus)

Mutable Earth: Virgo.  Mutable signs ADAPT, CHANGE and REFINE.  Add these concepts to Earth energy to better understand Virgo.

Unknown

Like Jones, Sean Connery also has Saturn on the ASC (authoritative identity) but his Sun and Moon are in Virgo and in the 8th. He has been very valued by others (8th) in playing the most iconic of all the James Bonds with his appealing and unassuming (Virgo) style that embraces neatness and precision (Virgo)

In the next post we will explore the Sun signs that run on Water energy.
