Metaphorcast for May 22- 28, 2023
A New Season has begun in Gemini, him and I, her and I and them and I. That and I, this and I. Within the archetype of the twins comes a reminder that everything is two, because everything is also you. Everything and everyone you encounter includes you in the mix!
These are the tricks of perception. Though there is a solid and objective world about which we move, each object contains us, the individual, the subject. Truth emerges somewhere in the middle of the twin’s riddle. As ultimate Gemini Bob Dylan sings, “the answer my friend, is blowin’ in the wind.” and also “may you have a strong foundation, when the winds of change shift.”
The mobius flow between object and subject is as mysterious as can be. As the double air extraordinaire duo of Lennon and Mcartney sing “I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.”
And yet somehow, to paraphrase another great Gemini Walt Whitman, out of the multitudes that we contain, emerges something with unity. Somehow the many things people and places we encounter merge into a continuous construction of values from which we navigate and orient.
It is with perfect Gemini-acuity that Whitman advises “Let your soul stand cool and composed before a million universes.”
Mercury has ended its retrograde since Mother’s Day and has been journeying onward in Taurus, the sign of Mother nature, seasoning the trickster with the leanings of natural instinct.
Einstein said “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
My mom is good with plants. On a recent visit she swooned over the different shades of lavender that our lilac bushes were displaying. Armed with scissors she insisted that we celebrate and enjoy these flowers before they are gone in a week. The next thing I knew my kitchen was fresher and more romantic than I had ever seen it. The lilac perfumed the whole room, and the flowers provided a lush nucleus for our kitchen, the helm of the house.
And then, somewhere on the opposite end of my subjective experience is the objective reality of the lilac. That place where these two ‘realities’ meet is the treasure of Gemini, germinating new life into the system of nature.
Poetry is a natural product of nature when subject and object recognize their continuous loop. The infinite flow is a dialogue as natural as the breeze itself.
Jupiter is newly in Taurus, adding faith and excitement to the paradigm shift upon us. This is a shift that has everything to do with nature and human nature. Nature is a guide, as you are a guide to yourself. But first one must recognize nature’s twinship; the infinite loop of dialogue between outer and inner life.
